Rusty Begnaud Returns, TP Night and Literacy Night Highlight Promotions

Rusty Begnaud, former Pelicans pitcher, will be in attendance at the Pelicans game on Friday, July 6 at 6:35 p.m. against the Sioux Falls Canaries.

Begnaud was one of the league's top pitchers in 2006 until he suffered a swimming pool accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down just over a year ago.

Rusty and his parents will be introduced and then address the crowd to thank the fans for all their support over the last year.

San Francisco Giant Greg Litton at Pelican Park

Pels Next Celebrity Coach to Donate Money to Sacred Heart Children's Hospital - The Pensacola Pelicans announced today that former Major Leaguer Greg Litton will be the Pelicans next Celebrity Coach on Friday, July 6 at 6:35 pm.

As Celebrity Coach, Litton will be dressed in a Pelicans jersey complete with his name on the back and exchange the line-up cards with the umpires and visiting manager before the game.

Pels Pay Tribute to 150 Years of TP

We all use it and give little to no respect! Well, that is going to change on Friday, July 6 at 6:35 pm as the Pelicans celebrate the 150th Anniversary of toilet paper. In addition to the fun games, every fan that walks through the gate will receive a free roll provided by Baldwin Plumbing Works, TK101 and the Independent News.

Celebrate Scoop's Birthday/Literacy Night

On Saturday, July 7 at 6:05, several of Scoop's mascot friends will be on hand to wish Scoop a happy 5th birthday sponsored by Sacred Heart Hospital, WEAR, and Soft Rock 94.1!! Mascots include Scooby Doo, Buzz Lightyear, Dora the Explorer, Sponge Bob, and many more.

Fans are encouraged to give Scoop a present by donating funds to First Book Pensacola, a non-profit that distributes brand new books to children. Since 1999, First Book has given over 200,000 books to children in the Pensacola area.
