Former Major Leaguer Greg Litton Pels Celebrity Coach

The Pensacola Pelicans announced today that former Major Leaguer Greg Litton will be the Pelicans next Celebrity Coach on Friday, July 6 at 6:35 pm.

As Celebrity Coach, Litton will be dressed in a Pelicans jersey complete with his name on the back and exchange the line-up cards with the umpires and visiting manager before the game.

Fans will be able to place a silent auction bid on his Pelicans jersey during the game. All proceeds will go to the Sacred Heart Children's Hospital. In addition to the jersey, fans will have the opportunity to get an autographed card from Litton.

Litton played with the San Francisco Giants for four seasons and one season with both the Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox before retiring in 1995. As a rookie in 1989, Litton hit a home run in game four of the World Series against the Oakland Athletics. In 1992, Litton played all nine positions in the Hall of Fame game and his glove from that game now resides safely in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.

Currently, Litton is the general manager and diamond appraiser at Meadows Jewelers in Pensacola. He also is a speaker with the Studer Group and presents the "Just Say No" program in public school systems and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
