Pelicans LHP Logan Williamson Named to 2007 All-Star Team

With the announcement of the All-Star pitchers today, the Pelicans now have three members of the 2007 squad representing them in the American Association All-Star game on Tuesday, July 17th in Sioux Falls, SD. Joining starters Trino Aguilar (3B) and Marcos Rodriguez (OF) is pitcher Logan Williamson.

The All-Star team managers chose the pitchers, while the division managers and media representatives voted on the starters.

Williamson will be making his first trip to the All-Star game. He started this season as a relief pitcher but has seized his opportunity as a starter. In three starts since joining the rotation, Williamson has gone 1-0 with a 1.74 ERA. Overall, Williamson is 1-1 with 1 save and a 2.72 ERA. The hard throwing southpaw has struck-out 32 batters and given up only 34 hits in 43 innings of work.

Williamson is the 16th Pelican to be named to the league All-Star team since 2004.
