(Rapid City, SD) - With a chance to extend their home winning streak to a franchise-long nine games, the Rush fell just short in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Wichita Thunder. The Rush finished with a very impressive 41-15 advantage in shots, but 40 saves by Thunder goaltender Adam Russo lifted his team to victory. Both teams hit the ice again tomorrow again tomorrow at 7:05pm and tickets are available by calling 716-7825 or online at gotmie.com.

The game's first goal was scored 4:09 into the third period, serving as the latest opening goal in a Rush game this season. The tally was picked up by defenseman Jarred Mohr who picked up his fourth goal of the season on a play set up by Matt Summers. Less than four minutes later, the Rush evened the score on the third goal of the season from Sean Wiles who snapped a wrist shot from the high slot that beat Russo under the blocker.

In the shootout, three of Wichita's four shooters found the net when Brett Hemingway, Thomas Beauregard and Matt Summers all found the net. All three Rush shooters were blanked, giving the Thunder the 2-1 decision.
