Rush Acquire Radjenovic
March 8, 2018 - ECHL (ECHL)
Rapid City Rush News Release
(RAPID CITY, SD) - The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild, announced an ECHL Trade Deadline deal with the Adirondack Thunder. The Rush have acquired rookie forward Andrew Radjenovic and future considerations in exchange for forward Kenton Miller.
Radjenovic comes to the Rush having skated already this season with the Cincinnati Cyclones and Adirondack Thunder. The 6'3", 210-pound centerman began with Cincinnati, registering 6 points (2g-4ast) in 10 games before heading to the Thunder, where in upstate New York he added an additional 15 points (5g-10ast) in 31 games.
Radjenovic is no stranger to the professional ranks, despite his rookie classification. He played with the Bakersfield Condors in their last season in the ECHL for 22 games, registering 5 goals and 3 assists for 8 points. He is classified as a rookie because he had less than 25 games of experience beginning this season.
A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Radjenovic, 26, played Canadian collegiate hockey with Brock University in USports. He averaged nearly a point-per-game in college, racking up 48 goals, 54 assists, and 102 points in 107 games with his alma mater in four seasons. Before finishing his collegiate career, he played senior hockey with the Stoney Creek Generals, winning the 2016 ACH Championship.
Miller departs the Rush as the team's leading goal-scorer with 21 tallies to his credit, along with 20 assists for 41 points in 47 games.
The Rush continue their busy week of hockey with a "three-in-three" two different cities. The rally continues Friday night, March 9th, as the Rush host the archrival Colorado Eagles for their final series ever with the Eagles moving to the AHL next season. Puck drop at Premier Home Mortgage Ice in Rushmore Plaza Civic Center is slated for 7:05 p.m. MST.
