Rush Acquire Konrad Reeder from Sundogs in Exchange for Jamie VanderVeeken

(Rapid City, SD) - The Rapid City Rush, in conjunction with the Arizona Sundogs and Central Hockey League (CHL), announced the completion of a trade that will bring in winger Konrad Reeder in exchange for defenseman Jamie VanderVeeken. The deal will also complete the future consideration portion of the Luke Erickson trade, completed earlier this season.

Reeder, a native of Vanderhoof, British Columbia, has appeared in 274 career CHL games and has amassed 136 goals and 188 assists for 324 total points. Reeder's most productive season came in 2007-08 while a member of the New Mexico Scorpions. That year, he finished second in the CHL in scoring with 108 points (41g, 67a). His 41 goals ranked tied for third overall in the league, while his 67 assists were third-most in the CHL. Reeder also put up special teams numbers, ranking 5th overall with 14 power-play goals and finishing 3rd in the league with six shorthanded goals league. He also finished with 13 points (5g, 8a) in five postseason appearances.

Reeder, 29, began this season in Germany with the Rosenheim Star Bulls, collecting 12 points in 24 contests. While with the Sundogs last season, Reeder finished second on the team in scoring with 55 points on 25 goals and 30 assists.

In 63 games with the Colorado Eagles in 2008-09, Reeder finished fifth on the team in scoring with 70 points and his 31 goals were third-most on the team. Reeder also collected seven game-winning goals which were tied for fourth-best in the CHL.

As a rookie during the 2006-07 season, Reeder tallied 39 points (18g,21a) and finished tied for second in scoring in the CHL during the 2007 Playoffs with 28 points (11g,17a)

Reeder played four seasons of NCAA Div. 1 college hockey at St. Cloud State from 2002-06, recording 18 goals, 23 assists and 38 PIM in 102 games

VanderVeeken appeared in 144 games for the Rush, totaling 64 points (21g, 43a) and 187 penalty minutes.
