Friday, January 7 - Missouri Mavericks at Wichita Thunder, 7:05 p.m. CST

The Mavericks head to Wichita for the sixth meeting of the season between the Turner Conference rivals. Missouri shut out the Thunder, 2-0, in the last game on December 27th, and the Mavericks are 2-2-1 this season against the Thunder. After Friday's game, the Mavericks will host the Thunder in four of the last five regular season meetings.

Saturday, January 8 - Missouri Mavericks vs. Tulsa Oilers, 7:05 p.m. CST

Missouri hosts the Tulsa Oilers on Saturday in the team's 19th home game of the season. The Mavericks have not lost to the Oilers in regulation yet this season going 4-0-1 and Missouri is 2-0-0 at home. The third period has been the difference maker this season as the Mavericks have outscored the Oilers 10-1 overall in the final period. Tulsa has outscored the Mavericks 9-8 in the first two periods combined. Mavericks' goaltender Robby Nolan is 3-0-0 against the Oilers and Tulsa netminder Ian Keserich has played in each of the last four meetings going 1-3-0.

Promotions & Notes

Sellouts - The Mavericks have sold out Independence Events Center six times in their last 11 home games. To date, the Mavericks have sold out the IEC a total of 22 times in franchise history.

Retro Jerseys - The Mavericks will pay homage to a former Kansas City professional hockey team this Saturday for the team's retro jersey auction. The Mavericks mocked up their jerseys to look like the old Kansas City Scouts. The jerseys will be auctioned off after the game and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Truman Heritage Habitat for Humanity.

Tight race in the Turner - The Mavericks trail the Rapid City Rush by just one point for first place in the Turner Conference, but seven of the nine teams in the conference are within eight points of each other. Rapid City leads with 38 points, Missouri is second with 37 points, Colorado is third with 36, Bloomington trails Colorado by just one point and Dayton and Quad City are each tied with 34 points. Five of the nine teams are tied for the lead with 17 wins, and only Evansville and Fort Wayne have yet to reach the 30-point mark.

36 games remain - The Mavericks are nearly to the halfway point of their season, and of the 36 remaining games, the Mavericks will play six more road games (21) than home games (15).

Player appearance - Cole Ruwe, Bill Vandermeer and Mac will be at the Price Chopper in Independence (4201 S. Noland Road) from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4.
