Light Games: The Tulsa Oilers just finishing their busiest month of the season have a little breather in the schedule with just two games this week. The Oilers make their first ever visit to the Quad City Mallards on Friday at 7:05 p.m. and then travel to Missouri on Saturday also at 7:05 p.m. All games can be accessed via the internet at www.tulsaoilers.com and CHL TV.
New Year In: The Oilers wrapped up 2010 dropping their final two games of the calendar year, losing to Missouri on Tuesday 2-1, and then losing Friday at Allen 10-1. The new year started better as the Oilers won their first game of 2011 beating Texas, 6-2 on Saturday, then dropping an 8-4 decision to Allen on Sunday.
Sizzlin' Chad: Right wing Chad Costello continues to be red hot for the Oilers. He had back to back four point games on Friday and Saturday and had 10 points (5G, 5A) on the week. Costello now has scored a goal in five straight games, the longest current streak in the league and tied for the second longest this season. Costello is now third in the CHL scoring race with 19 goals and 29 assists for 48 points.
On The Lake: The Oilers had goaltender Trevor Cann and center Harrison Reed recalled to Lake Erie of the American Hockey League last week.
All-Star Nods: Defenseman Derek Eastman and athletic trainer Stuart Nichols, A.T.C., L.A.T., have been selected to represent the Oilers on the CHL team of all-stars that will play the defending Ray Miron President Cup champions in Rapid City on January 12th.
