BOWIE BEATS BINGHAMTON BEHIND BIG SEVENTH INNING: In the regular season series finale, the Baysox used a five-run seventh inning to earn a 10-5 win Wednesday afternoon at Prince George's Stadium. The five-run rally came on the heels of the Ponies two-run seventh, tying the game at 5-5. All three games in the set concluded within 24 hours of each other.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Scott Copeland prepares for his 13th Eastern League start of the season and second against Altoona. Copeland tossed just one inning on Monday before the game was suspended in Bowie. The Curve tagged Copeland for six runs on 10 hits on June 13 at NYSEG Stadium, sending him to a loss.
JOEY BAG o' HITS: Joey Terdoslavich became the first Rumble Pony this season to earn a five-hit game. On Wednesday, Terdoslavich finished 5-for-5 with five singles. He's the first Rumble Pony with a five-hit game since Luis Guillorme did it on April 12, 2017.
EARLY BIRDS: The Rumble Ponies have scored first in four straight games, but sport a 1-3 mark in those contests.
ITS ALL IN THE HITS: On Wednesday, the Rumble Ponies lost despite outhitting the Baysox, 13-12. It's only the sixth time this season Binghamton has lost with more hits than their opponent.
MICHAEL MARCHES ON: Levi Michael collected two more hits on Wednesday, extending his hitting steak to nine games. The Eastern League All-Star has a knock in 15 of the last 16 games and is tied for the Eastern League lead in hits (107). He's hitting .367 in July and .305 for the season (5th in EL).
TO INFINITY & BIONDI: Patrick Biondi has a hit in all four games since being transferred from Las Vegas (AAA) to Binghamton. He's 5-for-12 with an RBI, four walks, and two stolen bases.
RUBBER RALLY ENDS: Binghamton had won five straight series deciders before Wednesday's loss. Binghamton's last rubber game defeat unfolded against Harrisburg on May 9
AGAINST ALTOONA: In their only series of the season, Altoona swept a three-game series from Binghamton at NYSEG Stadium on June 12-14. The Curve outscored the Rumble Ponies 28-7.
SCOUTING THE CURVE: Altoona enters the series holding the second and final playoff spot in the Western Division. They've won five of the last eight after taking two of three from Akron at Canal Park.
UP NEXT: Binghamton and Altoona continue their four-game series on Friday. RHP Mickey Jannis pitches for Binghamton against Curve LHP Taylor Hearn. First pitch at Peoples Natural Gas Field is slated for 7:00 PM.
