TODAY: The Binghamton Rumble Ponies look to avoid getting swept by the Hartford Yard Goats as they close out a seven-game homestand.

LAST TIME OUT: The Rumble Ponies dropped their fifth straight game as they fell to the Yard Goats 2-1 Saturday. The game was scoreless until the top of the seventh when Brian Serven hit a two-out RBI single over a leaping Andres Gimenez. The Goats added another run in the top of the ninth on a Bret Boswell RBI single. The Ponies snapped a 37.2-inning scoreless drought with a Mike Paez RBI single in the bottom of the ninth. Then with the tying run on third and the winning run on second, Barrett Barnes struck out looking to end the game. Mickey Jannis struck out a career-high 12 over seven innings but suffered the loss.

SCORELESS STREAK SNAPPED: With their run in the ninth inning, the Rumble Ponies ended a 37.2-inning scoreless drought. They lost a pair of 1-0 games to New Hampshire and a 7-0 defeat to Hartford in that stretch.

SKID MATCHES SEASON-LONG: Binghamton has lost five straight games, which matches its longest losing streak of the year. The Ponies have scored just two runs and were shutout three times. They are 2-41 with runners in scoring position during the skid. The Ponies' other five-game skid came from June 29-July 3, when they lost four games via walk-offs.

BRODEY REGISTERS ANOTHER MULTI-HIT GAME: Quinn Brodey smacked two hits and went 2-4 with a double Saturday. In the five games the Ponies have played against the Yard Goats this month, Brodey has four multi-hit games, including a 4-4 night Friday. On the season, he is .444 (12-27) over eight games vs. Hartford. In the month of August, Brodey is hitting a team-best .320 (16-50) with four RBI and four doubles in 16 games.

JANNIS SETS NEW STRIKEOUT CAREER HIGH : Mickey Jannis struck out 12 batters over seven innings Saturday. It was his second straight start in which he set a new career-high for Ks as he fanned 10 against New Hampshire on Tuesday. Despite his high strikeout totals and allowing just one earned run, the knuckleballer suffered the loss in both contests.

PONIES DROP SIXTH STRAIGHT SERIES: With the Yard Goats taking the first two games of the series, the Rumble Ponies have lost six consecutive series. Their last series win was against Bowie (July 25-28). Binghamton lost three of four to Erie and New Hampshire and dropped two of three at Akron and Hartford and at home to Harrisburg. The Ponies are 1-5 during their current homestand.

COMING UP: The Rumble Ponies begin a seven-game road trip to Bowie and New Hampshire when they take on the Baysox at Prince George's Stadium Monday night at 7:05PM.
