
Rudy Tomjanovich to Open Weekend Festivities on Coach's Show

HIDALGO, TEXAS - The NBA D-League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that former Houston Rockets player and two-time NBA Championship head coach Rudy Tomjanovich will be a guest on Thursday's Coach's Show to officially kick of Friday's Rockets affiliate night.
The show, featuring Vipers head coach Clay Moser and play-by-play voice Alex Del Barrio, will be broadcast live from Buffalo Wild Wings in McAllen on ESPN 1240 AM from 5:00-to-6:00 p.m.
"This is a great way to kick off an exciting weekend of games and promotions, including Friday's Rockets affiliate night, which will give fans in the Rio Grande Valley yet another great experience thanks to the strong relationship between the Vipers and Rockets," Vipers President and General Manager Brian Michael Cooper said.
Friday's game is against the Tulsa 66ers, against whom the Vipers are 5-1, and begins at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:00.
The first 1,000 fans in the arena will receive Ron Artest Bobblehead Dolls.
All fans will be treated to performances by Rockets Hall-of-Fame mascot Clutch the Bear. He will be part of a halftime show that will include an Air Force swearing-in ceremony.
The Vipers will be wearing Rockets uniforms, which will be auctioned off after the game.
The Santa Rosa High School boys' basketball team, which advanced to the state semi-finals this year, will be honored during the game.
For $10, all fans can get ticket combos (one ticket plus a hot dog, chips and a drink).
The first 75 children under the age of 12 will receive t-shirts courtesy of Pena Eye Institute.
