Tulsa 66ers News Release
Tulsa, Okla., March 23, 2009 - The Tulsa 66ers will make four appearances this week throughout the community. On Monday, players will visit the Children's Hospital at St. Francis, and will also help conduct a basketball clinic at the Hutcherson Family YMCA. On Tuesday, players will visit the Owen Park Community Center for a reading timeout and will stress the importance of literacy and the joy of reading. On Wednesday, Routie the Roadrunner will make an appearance at Kirk of the Hills school.
Below is a schedule for the team's charitable events beginning on Monday, Mar. 23. This is not for public release.
MONDAY, MAR. 23
WHAT: 66ers at Children's Hospital at St. Francis
WHO: 66ers players (TBA)
WHEN: 2:45 p.m.
WHERE: St. Francis Hospital, 6161 S. Yale Avenue in Tulsa
Players will visit with children and their parents at the hospital.
WHAT: 66ers at YMCA Basketball Clinic
WHO: 66ers players (TBA)
WHEN: 6 p.m.
WHERE: Hutcherson Family YMCA, 1120 E. Pine St. in Tulsa
Players will be helping children learn the fundamentals of basketball and participating in drills.
TUESDAY, MAR. 24
WHAT: 66ers at Owen Park Community Center
WHO: 66ers players (TBA)
WHEN: 1 p.m.
WHERE: Owen Park Community Center, 560 N. Maybelle St. in Tulsa
Players will take a reading timeout with children, stressing the importance of literacy and the joy of reading.
WEDNESDAY, MAR. 25
WHAT: 66ers mascot Routie at Kirk of the Hills School
WHO: 66ers mascot Routie the Roadrunner
WHEN: 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: Kirk of the Hills School, 4102 E. 61st Street in Tulsa
Routie will make an appearance at the school to bring joy and help the kids during their "Field Day".
