Royals Notes:
- The Royals went 4-0-0 in the four games played this past week. Reading's record is now 41-19-7=89, which places the Royals in first place in the North Division of the American Conference and translates into a .664 win percentage-which is sixth best win percentage in the league.
- The Royals are currently riding a four game win streak. The longest winning streak of the season for the Royals to this point of the season extended for games from November 11 through November 26, 2005.
- In last Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Wheeling Nailers, Larry Courville scored two goals, including the Royals first goal that came at the 3:18 mark of the first period-2:21 after the Nailers had opened the game with their lone goal on the night.
- Courville's two goal performance last Tuesday marked his first multi-goal game of the year.
- Courville also picked up a two assists in the Royals 5-4 overtime win against Johnstown on Friday.
- In Sunday's 3-2 shootout win over the Trenton Titans, Courville scored the Royals first goal and assisted on the game tying goal (by Chris Bala at the 11:25 mark of the third), to mark his third multi-point performance in four games this week.
- Courville has now had five multi-point performances in 52 games over the course of the season-and four of those multi-point games have come in his last seven played.
- Doug Christiansen scored two goals in the Royals 4-1 win over the Nailers last Tuesday, including the game winner.
- For Christiansen, Tuesday's game marked his seventh multi-goal game of the year and his fifteenth multi-point performance of the season.
- Christiansen's game winner in last Tuesday's game marked his third gwg of the season.
- Christiansen also scored a goal in the Royals' 5-4 overtime win against the Johnstown Chiefs on Friday, extending his goal scoring streak to three games-the second time that he has done that this season. That goal scoring streak was snapped in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Trenton Titans.
- Over the course of the season, Doug Christiansen now leads that Royals in goals (33) and points (61) in 60 games this season.
- Shay Stephenson assisted on three of the Royals' four goals in the 4-1 win over Wheeling last Tuesday, marking his first three-assist game of the season.
- Stephenson also scored the Royals' third goal in the 5-4 overtime win against the Johnstown Chiefs on Friday night.
- In Saturday's 3-1 win over Trenton, Stephenson scored two goals, including the game winner-his fourth game winner of the season.
- Stephenson also assisted on the Royals' other goal in the 3-1 win over Trenton on Saturday, marking the third time this season that he has had three or more points in a single game.
- Stephenson's three point performance on Saturday extended his personal point streak to four games (3g - 5a = 8pts), a streak that was snapped in Sunday's 3-2 shootout win over the Titans.
- In his last ten games Stephenson has racked up 5 goals and 6 assists (eleven points).
- Yutaka Fukufuji picked up the win for the Royals in the 4-1 win over the Wheeling Nailers, stopping 30 of the 31 shots he faced for his first regulation victory since a 1-0 victory over the Dayton Bombers on February 24, 2006.
- Fukufuji also picked up the win in the Royals 3-1 victory over the Trenton Titans on Saturday, as Fukufuji stopped 50 of 51 shots he faced that night.
- Fukufuji's 50 stops on Saturday night was a season high for the Royals' goaltenders this year.
- Over the course of this past week, Fukufuji was 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals against average and a .976 save percentage.
- Over the course of the season, the Fukufuji has a record of 15-8-4 with a 2.82 goals against average and a .921 save percentage.
- In Friday's 5-4 overtime win over the Johnstown Chiefs on Friday, ten different Royals' players factored in the scoring, as each of the five Reading goals was scored by a different member of the team.
- The overtime win by Reading against Johnstown last Friday ran the Royals' record to 6-3 in games resolved in overtime.
- Eric Werner scored the Royals' first goal in the 5-4 overtime win against the Johnstown Chiefs on Friday night, extending his personal point streak to three games.
- Although he was held off the scoreboard in the Royals' wins on Saturday and Sunday, over the course of his last 24 games, Werner has racked up 23 points (seven goals and sixteen assists).
- Tyler Hanchuck scored the Royals' second goal in Friday's 5-4 overtime win over Johnstown, snapping a forty-six game goal scoring drought for him.
- Hanchuck also scored a goal (the Royals' third) in Reading's 3-1 win on Saturday night, marking the first time this season that Hanchuck has scored a goal in successive games.
- Hanchuck also picked up an assist in the Royals' wins on Friday and Saturday, marking the first time this season that he has had back-to-back multi-point performances.
- Over the course of the season, Hanchuck now has three goals and fourteen assists (seventeen points) in 65 games.
- Chris Bala scored the game winning goal in overtime for the Royals in the 5-4 win against Johnstown on Friday, marking the first time this season that Bala has bagged an OT gwg-although it was his fourth game winner for Reading this season.
- Bala also picked up two assists in Friday's win, marking his second three point game of the year.
- Bala also scored the Royals' second and game tying goal (with 8:35 remaining in the game) in Sunday's 3-2 shootout win over Trenton.
- Bala also assisted on Reading's first goal in Sunday's game (and scored on his first attempt in the twelve round shootout), marking his eleventh multi-point game of the season in 41 games played for the Royals this year.
- In Bala's last seven games, he has picked up eight points (3 goals and 5 assists).
- The lone assist awarded on the Royals' overtime game winner on Friday night was given to Reagan Rome, extending his personal point streak to three games-a streak that was snapped in the Royals' 3-1 win over Trenton on Saturday night.
- Chris Greene picked up his first point as a pro in Friday's 5-4 overtime win against the Johnstown Chiefs, when he assisted on Shay Stephenson's goal (the Royals' third) that night.
- Greene also picked up two assists in the Royals' 3-1 win over the Trenton Titans on Saturday night, marking his first multi-point performance as a pro.
- Cody Rudkowsky was the Royals' goaltender in the 5-4 overtime win against Johnstown, stopping 18 of the 22 shots he faced in that game.
- Rudkowsky has compiled a record of 4-1 in the five overtime games that he's played for the Royals this season.
- Rudkowsky was also Reading's goaltender in the 3-2 shootout win over the Trenton Titans on Sunday, stopping 22 of the 24 shots he faced through the 65 minutes of hockey and rejecting ten of the twelve shootout chances he faced in that game.
- Rudkowksky has a 2-2 record in the four shootouts he's played in this year, stopping 25 of the 34 shots he's faced in the shootout this season.
- Over the course of the season, Rudkowsky has a record of 23-8-4 with a 2.41 goals against average (fourth best in the league) and a .919 save percentage.
- The Royals entered the third period in Sunday's 3-2 shootout win in Trenton trailing by a score of 2-1; but for the fourth time this season were able to come back and win after entering the third trailing the opposition.
- The Royals' record is now 4-15-0 when entering the third period with the opponent leading the game.
- Sunday's 3-2 shootout win for the Royals marked the sixth time this season that Reading has gone to the shootout, and the team has compiled a record of 2-4 in those games.
- The shootout on Sunday for the Royals went a season long twelve rounds, with the Royals' players scoring in three of their twelve shots (Chris Bala, Malcolm MacMillan, and Eric Werner).
- Over the course of the season, the Royals have taken 36 shootout attempts and have scored on ten of those-a 27.7% scoring ratio.
- Over the course of the four games this past week, the Royals scored four power play goals in eighteen chances with the man advantage, a 22.2% scoring ratio.
- In the last ten games, the Royals have scored seven power play goals in 45 chances with the man advantage a 15.6% scoring ratio.
- Over the course of the season, Reading is 72 for 348 with the man advantage, a 20.7% scoring ratio, which is fourth in the league in that category.
- Over the course of the three games this past week, the Royals' penalty killers stopped fifteen of the eighteen power play chances for the opponents, an 83.3% kill ratio.
- In the last ten games, the Royals have allowed six power play goals in 55 chances for the opponents with the man advantage an 89.1% kill ratio.
- Over the course of the season, Reading has given up 60 power play goals against in 425 chances for the opposition, an 85.9% kill ratio, which is the second best in the league.
