Lynx Secure Playoff Berth!

The Augusta Lynx are going back to the post-season for the first time since the 2000-01 season. Thanks to a 3-0 shutout win over the Florida Everblades on Sunday and locking up the season head-to-head series with the Columbia Inferno the previous evening, Augusta has secured a playoff berth and will participate in the best-of-three opening round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs. It remains to be seen who Augusta's first round opponent will be, depending on whether the Lynx finish fifth or sixth and also whether Florida or Greenville will wrap up the second place spot in the division for a first round bye. Augusta sits one point behind Charlotte with each club having five games remaining, including going head to head in Augusta this Saturday night.

Up Next

Thursday, March 30 vs. Gwinnett - 7:35 pm

Friday, March 31 vs. Gwinnett - 7:35 pM

The Lynx carry the distinction of having beaten Gwinnett four times this year, and three of those have come on home ice. Only Greenville, who are 6-3-0 against the Gladiators this year, have beaten Gwinnett more than Augusta's 4-2-1 mark. Not only will the teams play here Thursday and Friday, but the Lynx end the season on the road at Gwinnett next week Saturday as well.

Saturday, April 1 vs. Charlotte - 7:35 pm

The Lynx carry a 4-3-1 record against the Checkers into their pivotal ninth matchup against the club this Saturday. This game marks the last time the two teams will meet in the regular season, and a chance for the winner to put some breathing room between the other team over the final two or three games of the season - and possibly put a definitive separation between fifth and sixth place in the Southern Division.
