Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals edged the BC Division leading Kamloops Blazers 3-2 and were led offensively by forward Brandon Cutler, who was named the game's first star with two goals.

Notes:

Century Mark: In tonight's contest, Royals' bench boss Dan Price earned his 100th career WHL win as a head coach. Price has earned the 100 wins over a span of 193 games and has totalled a record of 100-77-11-5. The only other head coach to earn over 100 wins in franchise history is Dave Lowry, who reached this milestone in 177 contests (100-64-5-8).

BC Division: Victoria has posted a combined record of 16-8-0-0 against clubs from the BC Division. Amongst the five BC teams, the Royals have gained the most points from divisional games (32). They are followed by the Kamloops Blazers (15-8-1-0) at 31 points, the Vancouver Giants with 28 points (12-7-3-1), the Kelowna Rockets at 22 points (10-14-1-1) and the Prince George Cougars with 18 points (7-12-1-3).

Triple Doubles: With a pair of goals in tonight's contest, Royals' forward Brandon Cutler became the first player in Royals' history to record multiple goals in three straight games. The 2000-born forward is only the second player in franchise history to accomplish this. Former Chilliwack Bruin Ryan Howse recorded multiple goals in three straight games twice during the 2010-11 season.

Scoring Streak: Tonight, Royals' forwards Brandon Cutler, Tarun Fizer and Gary Haden all extend their point streaks to three games. Over the course of those contests, Cutler tallied five goals and one assist, Fizer posted four assists and Haden scored three goals.

Versus the Blazers at Home: Since the 2011-12 season, the Royals have a 25-7-2-0 record against Kamloops at home. Victoria has now won 10 of their last 11 games against the Blazers at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre that dates back to September 30, 2017. Kamloops' last win in Victoria came on October 25th of this season.

Called Up: Royals' affiliated player Matthew Hodson played in only his second WHL contest tonight. The 2003-born forward was recently recalled from the Saskatoon Contacts of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League (SMHL). Hodson leads the Contacts in assists with 34 and is second in team scoring with 49 points (15g-34a) in 41 games.
