Saskatoon Blades News Release

Moose Jaw, SK - The Saskatoon Blades scored seven unanswered goals from the 12:54 mark of the second period onward to come from behind and ultimately beat the Moose Jaw Warriors 8-2 in dominant fashion on Saturday evening at Mosaic Place.

The Warriors had a strong first period, limiting Saskatoon to just one goal from Nolan Kneen (10) while scoring two of their own. Kneen, playing in his 299th WHL career game, was assisted by fresh forward Evan Patrician and D-partner Aidan De La Gorgendiere.

A chippy second period, however, saw the tables turned against the home team as the Blades tied the game up near the middle of the match through Caiden Daley's (3) first as a Blade. Then, goals to Matt Sanders (2), Tristen Robins (24), and Colton Dach (9) in the last five minutes of the frame saw Saskatoon firmly on top 5-2 going into the last change. For Sanders, the goal was his first against his former club.

The game ended with Robins (25) & Dach (10) each netting their second goals of the evening as Riley McKay (17) also joined the scoring in the third to set the final score 8-2 Blades.

Veteran blueliner Scott Walford picked up three assists on the night & Koen MacInnes stopped 27 shots in net for the win. Robins & Dach also picked up two assists each, giving them both four-point performances. Daley, in addition to his goal, earned an assist for his first multi-point night with Saskatoon. Jayden Wiens, Braden Plaschewsky, Kyle Crnkovic & Rhett Rhinehart all earned single helpers too.

Having outshot the Warriors 43-29, the Blades have now out-shot their opponents for the past 11 straight games and are 6-3-1-1 in that span.

Caiden Daley (1G-1A, +3), Colton Dach (2G-2A, +4) & Tristen Robins (2G-2A, +4) were named third, second and first stars of the night respectively.

Saskatoon & Moose Jaw will do battle again immediately on Sunday, February 9th, at 2pm at SaskTel Centre for the Blades' final Mosaic Family Day Skate of the season.
