Royals Trip Titans Once Again

February 17, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Titans News Release

TRENTON, N.J. - Reading goalie Jussi Rynnas made 48b saves, and the Royals attack bolted to a 3-0 lead en route to a 4-2 win over the Titans Friday night before 3,012 at the Sun National Bank Center.

Rynnas spoiled several Titans opportunities as the Royals (23-22-3-3-52) won their second straight against Trenton (16-26-3-5-40).

The Royals took a 1-0 lead as John Scrymgeour put one past Titans goalie Brad Phillips 7:21 into the first period. The score came after Phillips stopped a semi-breakway by Dennis McCauley. That was the only goal of the first period.

Reading added a pair in the second, on Olivier Labelle's 21st from close in at 3:22 and Mikael Bedard's 14th in a similar situation at 15:31, building a 3-0 advantage before the second intermission.

The Titans got on the board with 15:28 remaining on Chris Poli's first goal as a Titan, assisted by Eric Baier. Ray DiLauro then knocked in his fourth of the year, with assists from Andy Bohmbach and Rob Bordson, with 7:55 remaining.

After that, Rynnas frustrated the Titans and McCauley's 10th of the season clinched the win for the visiting Royals.

The Titans travel to Elmira for a Saturday night (7:35) battle, then host Wheeling at 4 p.m. Sunday.
