IN JUST A FEW HOURS...
The Elmira Jackals will look to capture their third-straight win when they head to Johnstown, Pa. to battle the Wheeling Nailers at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena, with the opening faceoff at 7:35 p.m. The Jackals earned a 3-1 victory on Thursday night in Cincinnati, with Nick Schaus scoring with just 2:38 left in regulation to give Elmira its first lead of the contest. Wheeling has been idle since it fell in overtime to Elmira on Tuesday at First Arena, 3-2.
FIRST PLACEUP FOR GRABSTONIGHT
With their win over the Cyclones last night, the Jackals recaptured first place in the Atlantic Division by one point over the Nailers. The Jackals are in sole possession of the division's top spot for the first time since play began on Feb. 4. The Nailers, however, have one game in hand entering the action tonight. Elmira currently occupies second place in the Eastern Conference, three points behind Gwinnett with a game in hand on the Gladiators.
WAR MEMORIAL WINNING STREAK ON THE LINE
The Jackals head into tonight's game carrying a seven-game winning streak at Johnstown's War Memorial Arena. Elmira has not lost in Johnstown since Mar. 8, 2009, falling 5-4 to the Chiefs in that game. The Jackals have an all-time record of 13-5-1-0 at War Memorial Arena, with a 12-5-1-0 mark against the Chiefs and a 1-0-0-0 record versus the Nailers.
