Langley, BC- The Victoria Royals were defeated 4-1 by the Vancouver Giants on Saturday night at the Langley Events Centre.
Notes:
Lone Marker - The Royals' only goal tonight marked the first time in 36 regular season games that Victoria was held to one goal or less. The last time the Royals tallied one marker or less in a contest was back on February 15, 2017 versus the Medicine Hat Tigers.
Marty Party - Royals' import forward Igor Martynov recorded his second goal in as many career WHL games against the Giants in Langley, BC. Martynov has recorded points (3g-1a) in four out of the five games against the Giants this season.
Royal Redds - Victoria blueliner Chaz Reddekopp suited up in his 250th career WHL game tonight. Reddekopp became the 11th player to partake in 250 WHL contests, all with Victoria.
Hometown Kids - Tonight, four Victoria skaters returned home as Spencer Gerth (Langley), Dante Hannoun (Delta), Scott Walford (Coquitlam), and Kaid Oliver (White Rock) all originate from the Greater Vancouver Area.
