The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Edmonton Oil Kings 5-2 on Tuesday night at Prospera Place in Kelowna.

The Rockets jumped out to an early lead as Dillon Dube(9) capitalized on a breakaway 25 seconds in to the game. Kyle Topping(8) extended Kelowna's lead four minutes later. Trey Fix-Wolansky(9) returned fire for the Oil Kings midway through the frame to get Edmonton on the board but Dube(10) added his second of the period to restore the Rockets two goal advantage. Kelowna led 3-1 through 20 minutes.

Davis Koch(8) scored for the Oil Kings to bring them back within one at 8:21 of the middle stanza. The Rockets held a 3-2 lead through 40 minutes of play.

18 seconds in to the final period Carsen Twarynski(11) returned Kelowna's two goal lead once again. Twarynski(12) added an empty net goal for the Rockets with 42 seconds remaining and Kelowna won 5-2.

The Rockets enjoyed multi-point evenings from Carsen Twarynski(2G, 1A), Dillon Dube(2G, 1A), and Liam Kindree (2A).

James Porter made 21 saves on 23 shots as Kelowna outshot Edmonton 29-23.

The Rockets record improves to 11-6-2-1 on the season.
