Since the franchise relocated from Chilliwack in the 2011-12 season, the Royals have posted a record of 7-2-0-0 in their yearly event. This was the first time the Royals matched up against the Rockets on Pink in the Rink. In their previous eight Pink in the Rink nights, Victoria has played the Vancouver Giants five times, the Kamloops Blazers twice and the Portland Winterhawks once.

Penalty Kill Prowess: Tonight, the Royals continued their run of successful penalty kills against the Rockets this season. Victoria have now killed off 22 consecutive Kelowna powerplays that dates back to the fist period of their third meeting of the season on November 6th.

Milestone Men: Victoria's Will Warm and Phillip Schultz each reached a WHL milestone in tonight's game. Warm played in his 200th career regular season game, while Schultz skated in his 100th. The 20-year-old Warm has recorded 53 points (13g-40a) split between the Royals and Edmonton Oil Kings. Schultz a 2000-born import forward, has registered 34 goals and 26 assists over a season and a half in the league.

Shorthanded Strike: In tonight's game, Tarun Fizer scored Victoria's eighth shorthanded goal of the season. The Royals are tied with the Portland Winterhawks and Calgary Hitmen for the fourth most shorthanded goals in the WHL. The Lethbridge Hurricanes sit in first in the league with 13. The franchise record for most shorthanded goals in a season is 13, which occurred during the 2017-18 season.

WHL Debut: Royals' affiliated player Brayden Schuurman, who was turned 16 years old today, played in his first career WHL game tonight. Schuurman was recalled earlier today from the Yale Hockey Academy Midget Prep team of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. In 30 games with Yale this season, Schuurman leads his team in scoring with 34 points (15g-19a). The 2004-born was selected by Victoria in the fourth round, 69th overall, in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft.

On Fire: Victoria over-ager Gary Haden continued his team-leading seven-game point scoring streak with an assist on Brayden Tracey's first goal of the contest. In those seven games, Haden has collected two goals and seven assists.
