April 9, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL)
Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team will host a Playoff Pep Rally on Tuesday, April 15, from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm at Stokesay Castle in Reading (141 Stokesay Castle Lane; 610-375-6100).
The rally will feature an evening packed with fun and excitement, as the team prepares for the post-season charge to become the first team in ECHL history to win back-to-back Kelly Cup championships. The Knight's Pub at Stokesay will be open as early as 4 pm, serving dinner and beverages for those who want to get things going early. For every $10.00 spent on food and drink at the Pep Rally, fans will receive a raffle ticket to win a goalie stick signed by every player on the Royals' playoff roster. Fans can also purchase playoff tickets and the latest in Royals' playoff gear from the team's merchandise magician, Gregg Lewis.
Starting at 7:00 pm the pep rally will shift to Stokesay's Ballroom where we'll all get one good last look the Kelly Cup-before we set out and seek to defend Miss Kelly's honor. At that time, we'll also get a good look on just how well Slapshot's early-stage playoff beard is progressing. From 8:00 - 8:30 pm, the entire team on the playoff roster will be available for an autograph session. We respectfully ask that fans keep requests for autographs to two per fan-as the boys have to keep their hands and arms fresh for bigger and better things later that week.
The Royals return to action tonight (Wednesday, April 9 @ 7:30 pm) at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida, where the team will take on the Florida Everblades. The game night broadcast on Wednesday will kick off with the Pre-Game Warm-Up Show presented by Highmark Blue Shield at 7:00 pm on CBS Sports Radio 1240 am and 98.5 fm in Reading. As with all Royals' road games, Wednesday's game will also be televised locally in Berks County, Pennsylvania, on BCTV courtesy of Boscov's Travel and Apple Vacations.
