Evansville IceMen News Release

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville IceMen concluded a week that saw them eliminated from post season contention with a blowout victory over the Elmira Jackals Saturday.

4/3 - Evansville continued its eight game road trip this week with three games in three days, starting in Cincinnati Thursday. The IceMen scored initially, early in the first period. A three goal second period by the Cyclones doomed Evansville, as it fell to Cincinnati, 4 - 1.

4/4 - Friday night, Evansville traveled to Wheeling with slim playoff hopes hanging in the balance. The two teams engaged in a spirited affair with 60 minutes in penalties alone. After a scoreless first period, another second period collapse once again did Evansville in. Thomas Larkin scored on the power play to cut the deficit to 3 - 1 in the first minute of the third period, but that's the closest the IceMen got. With the loss, Evansville had lost five in a row overall, four in a row in regulation.

4/5 - Dashed from the playoff race, the IceMen scored two goals in the first and second period and three goals in the third to get the first victory of the season against Elmira Saturday. Evansville received two goals and an assist for Alex Aleardi on his way to the first star honor. Daultan Leveille scored his 21st of the season and captain Josh Beaulieu scored his 11th of the season and his team-leading sixth power play goal. Mike Clemente picked up his 19th win of the campaign.
