Alaska Aces News Release
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League, announced that defenseman Brad Richard has been named to the 2013-14 ECHL All-Rookie Team, determined in a vote of the league's coaches, broadcasters, media relations directors and members of the media.
Richard, 25, is tied for second among ECHL rookie defensemen in scoring with 30 points (6g-24a) in 59 games and is third among rookies in plus-minus (+21). He leads the Aces in scoring among defensemen and has 11 power play points (3g-8a), ranking sixth on the club.
The 5-foot-10, 195 pound blueliner was signed by the Aces as a free agent on Sept. 6, 2013 and was previously captain for two seasons at Hobart College (NCAA) where he earned 64 points (22g-42a) in 97 career games.
Richard is the sixth player from the Aces, all-time, to earn a spot on the ECHL All-Rookie team and the first since defenseman Mark Isherwood (2010-11).
