Royals Promote Two Forwards

READING, PA – The Reading Royals, ECHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have announced that forwards David Masse and Judd Medak have been called up to the American Hockey League. Masse has been recalled to the Hershey Bears, while Medak is being loaned to the Syracuse Crunch. Masse, 22, earns his sixth promotion to Hershey this season. In 14 games in with the Bears, the rookie forward has two goals and four points, along with 6 minutes in penalties. The Montreal, Quebec native leads all rookie scorers on the Reading club with ten goals and 35 points. Currently, he is tied for fifth on the team in scoring and ranks third with 107 penalty minutes. Masse has appeared in 40 games with the Royals this season.

Medak, 25, makes his fourth trip to the American Hockey League this season, appearing with three different teams. The Vancouver, British Columbia native has appeared in eight games with Manchester and Hershey and was held scoreless, while recording eight penalty minutes. The second year pro, has appeared in a total of 17 American Hockey League games tallying two goals and four points with 14 penalty minutes. Medak ranks third on the Reading club in scoring with 19 goals and 42 points. He ranks first with six first goals scored and second with four game-winning markers.

The Reading Royals travel to Peoria, Illinois to battle the Peoria Rivermen for a pair of games this weekend. The Royals and Rivermen meet for the third and fourth time in Peoria on Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28. It is the Royals final two visits to the Bradley Center this season. The action faces off at 7:35 p.m. with the Performance Toyota pre-game show and the drop of the puck follows at 8:00 p.m.
