Royals Name Reagan Rome Captain

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman, Reagan Rome, has been named team captain. Forwards, Doug Christiansen and Jon Francisco were named as the alternates. Rome, a fourth year pro from Nesbitt, Manitoba, is in his third season with the Royals. Last year, Rome scored two goals, assisted on nineteen others and picked up 140 penalty minutes in sixty-two games. In another transaction, Francisco was activated after a stint on the seven-day injured reserve. Reading also placed forwards, Larry Courville and Malcolm MacMillan, on the seven day injured reserve. In a separate transaction earlier this week, forward Steve Simoes was released.

10/26/05 Steve Simoes, forward, released.

The Royals play in Wheeling, West Virginia, on Friday night, and then the team returns to the Sovereign Center on Saturday, October 29, for the home opener against the Trenton Titans. The Royals will raise the North Division regular season championship banner prior to the drop of the puck.
