Augusta Lynx News Release
The Augusta Lynx did some shuffling around their goal crease today, adding netminders Trevor Cunning and Cam Ellsworth to the team while placing Jason Wolfe on the 7-Day IR.
Ellsworth was with the team in pre-season and appeared in two of the Lynx three pre-season efforts, allowing five goals over four periods of play. Cunning, meanwhile, comes to the team after being released by the Pensacola Ice Pilots earlier this season due to the reassignment of Chad Ford from Toronto of the American Hockey League. The 6-2, 195 lb. Cunning had yet to appear in a game for the Ice Pilots.
Wolfe was placed on the 7-Day IR this week after being injured in Augusta's opening game against the South Carolina Stingrays last Friday night. He played 20:59 of the first game, allowing one goal on the play he became injured.
"We're taking Jason as day-to-day," said Lynx head coach and director of hockey operations Bob Ferguson. "But for now we'll have Cunning and Ellsworth in net for us this weekend and re-visit after Pensacola."
The Lynx will face the Gwinnett Gladiators on Friday night at 7:35 pm, followed by the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 8:05 pm on Saturday. The Classic Stucco and Stone Pre-Game Show kicks off radio coverage on your Home for Lynx Hockey, NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630. Games are also available via the internet at www.augustalynx.com.
