Grrrowl announce partnership with Orthopedic Center of the Carolinas

GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Grrrowl announced today an expanded relationship with the Orthopedic Center of the Carolinas which will extend until 2008. The "OCC" becomes the "Exclusive Orthopedic Provider of the Grrrowl," and has named Heather Newman the Athletic Trainer for the Grrrowl.
"We've enjoyed the first year of this association with the Greenville Grrrowl," said OCC Office Manager Don Bailey, "and are looking forward to future years of partnership with the new owners. This partnership fits perfectly with our Sports Medicine concentration, and we're glad to continue supporting the Grrrowl."
Greenville's General Manager Ryan Stewart is excited that this partnership will provide Grrrowl players with top-notch medical treatment from Doctors like Bill DeVault and Matt Roberson.
"We're glad to continue a partnership with such a specialized and accomplished organization," said Stewart. "We take great pride in providing our players with the best possible medical treatment, and by sending them to the OCC, we're confident they'll be seen by a great group of doctors, physicians, and surgeons. The addition of Heather Newman is a key feature of this deal, and we're thrilled to have her back in the BI-LO Center."
The agreement brings Newman back to the BI-LO Center, as she will serve as Greenville's Head Athletic Trainer and coordinate the Strength and Conditioning Program for the players. She previously worked in the BI-LO Center as Head Athletic Trainer for the Carolina Rhinos of the Arena2 Football League. The 30-year old Vermont native has a wide variety of experience in clinic, collegiate, and professional athletics. Newman has spent the past two years working in Furman University's Athletic Department as the Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Another provision of the three-year agreement requires the OCC to provide a physician to be on-hand at every Grrrowl home game this season. The OCC will also sponsor a giveaway item at one Grrrowl game every year.
