Langley, BC - The Victoria Royals received a two-point performance from Langley, BC native Sean Gulka (1g-1a), and 26 saves from goaltender Brock Gould to topple the Vancouver Giants 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Season Series: Today's contest was the first of 10 meetings between the two clubs this season. With the win, the Royals have now won the last five season-series openers vs. the Giants. The next game between the two teams will take place on Wednesday, December 4th in Victoria.
Shutout Streak: Victoria goaltender Brock Gould had his shutout streak come to an end with 1:22 minutes left in the game. Gould had not been scored on in 136:53 minutes of action as his last goal against, prior to today's game, took place 1:45 minutes into the third period on October 5th vs. the Seattle Thunderbirds. His streak included his first career WHL shutout on Friday versus the Swift Current Broncos.
Hometown Kid: Royals forward Sean Gulka recorded a goal and an assist in his hometown of Langley, BC today. This is the second time in his WHL career that Gulka has scored at the Langley Events Centre. Last season, Gulka notched his first career WHL goal vs. the Giants in Langley.
Back at the Barn: Victoria will begin a five-game homestand with a pair of contests against the Kamloops Blazers on Friday, October 25th and Saturday, October 26th.
