
Chiefs Take 2 Points in Saturday Night Rematch with Prince George

Prince George, BC - The Spokane Chiefs rallied Saturday night to come back from an early deficit to beat the Prince George Cougars, 5-2.
After an early Prince George score and two failed Chiefs power plays in the first quarter, the Cougars entered the first intermission leading 1-0. Box Score: SPO (5) at P.G. (2)
The Chiefs offense ignited in the second frame as Adam Beckman got Spokane on the board, tying things 1-1 at 7:44 before a Bear Hughes goal at 13:18 gave them their first lead of the game.
Spokane stayed off the board again until late in the final period with Michael King reclaiming the Chiefs' lead at 16:56. Erik Atchison added a goal just 59 seconds later and Ty Smith later added an empty-netter as the Chiefs came away with the victory 5-2.
Goaltender Campbell Arnold, making his second start in as many nights, finished the night 17-of-19 between the pipes and Taylor Gauthier was 33-of-37 for Prince George. The Chiefs ended the game 1-for-3 on the power play while the Cougars went 0-for-2.
