Winnipeg ICE Defeat Saskatoon Blades 4-1

Winnipeg, MB - The Winnipeg ICE used a quick start to defeat the Saskatoon Blades 4-1 at Wayne Fleming Arena on Saturday night.

The ICE received early goals from Connor McClennon and Carson Lambos to gain a 2-0 advantage after the opening 20-minutes of play. Goals from Chase Hartje and Lambos in the second period allowed the ICE to have a 4-1 lead heading into the final frame. No team would find the back of the net in the third period, providing the ICE with the victory and the valuable two points.

ICE goaltender Jesse Makaj received the third star of the game, stopping 14-of-15 shots.

Both Blades goaltenders saw action in the game. Nolan Maier stopped 14-of-18 shots in 40-minutes of work while Koen MacInnes blocked all six shots he faced in the third.
