Victoria Royals News Release

Vancouver, BC - The Victoria Royals were paced by a Dante Hannoun hat-trick as they downed the Vancouver Giants 5-1 on Friday night at the Pacific Coliseum for their seventh straight win.

With the five goals in the victory, the Royals set the franchise record for most goals scored in a single season with 249.

The Royals' Hannoun, a product of Delta, BC, tallied a natural hat-trick in the final two periods to round out the game's scoring. Victoria's Ryan Peckford broke the 1-1 tie in the opening frame, while Jack Walker registered the other marker. Vancouver's lone goal was scored by Trevor Cox. Victoria's Alex Forsberg recorded an assist on the club's second goal, to pass Royals' alumni Austin Carroll for most points in a single season with 78 (24g-54a). Royals' netminder Griffen Outhouse turned aside 16 of the 17 shots he faced. Giants' goaltender Jake Morrissey turned away 27 of 32 shots fired his way.
