Kelowna Rockets News Release

The Kamloops Blazers defeated the Kelowna Rockets 3-2 on Friday night as the two WHL rivals opened up a weekend home-and-home series in Kamloops.

Kelowna outshot the Blazers 55-24 but couldn't solve Kamloops' netminder Connor Ingram, who turned in a first star performance in the win.

Tomas Soustal and Justin Kirkland scored for the Rockets, who fell behind 3-1 before staging a third period rally, outshooting the Blazers 20-6 in the period but falling short of tying the game.

The loss dropped the Rockets record to 44-17-3-0 on the season.

The Rockets and Blazers are back in action on Saturday in Kelowna when they hit the ice at Prospera Place.

Tickets are available for the game through www.selectyourtickets.com, at the Prospera Place box office or by phone at 250-762-5050.
