Royals Announce Opening Day Roster

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced the team's Opening Day Roster. The active line-up for the Royals includes eleven forwards, six defensemen, and three goaltenders. In separate transactions, the Royals released forward Josh McClellan from a Tryout Agreement; released forward Mitch Stephens; and traded goaltender Kris Mayotte to another team in the ECHL pending league approval. The team also placed defenseman Mike Salekin on the three day injured reserve. Forward Bracken Kearns, who was signed by the Royals on Monday, is currently on in-active status due to pending immigration. The Royals Opening Day Roster is as follows:

The Royals' open the 2007-08 ECHL season on Friday night at Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey when Reading takes on the Trenton Devils with opening face-off at 7:30 pm. The Royals game night broadcast will be on ESPN Radio 1240 am with the pre-game show beginning at 7:00 pm. The Royals' home opener is on Saturday, November 3, 2007, against the Cincinnati Cyclones.
