Elmira Jackals News Release
ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that the hour long Jackals Coach's Show will hit the air Mondays at 6 p.m. during the season beginning this coming Monday, October 22nd, on NewsTalk 1230/1450. The show will originate from O'Ryans Sports Bar & Grill, 159 Prescott Avenue in Elmira Heights and be hosted by Jackals radio and television voice Grady Whittenburg.
Owners Bill and Terri Seymour are partnering with the Jackals for a schedule of 19 Monday night shows at O'Ryans during the regular season. The show will be extended into the Jackals playoff season on dates to be announced in April 2008.
The show will feature head coach Steve Martinson each night along with several Jackals, appearances by Jackals general manager Robbie Nichols, highlights form the past week's games, news from around the ECHL, prize giveaways and more. Fans on-location will be given the opportunity to interact with the guests and pose their questions live on-air. And for those unable to make it to O'Ryans, fans can participate by calling in to the NewsTalk 1230/1450 studios to join the broadcast.
NewsTalk 1230/1450 is a part of the Route 81 Radio Group that serves as the flagship carrier of Jackals Hockey. All game night broadcasts can be heard on sister station MAGIC FM (92.7/97.7) each night beginning 30 minutes prior to scheduled face-off with the Hill Top Inn Countdown to Face-Off.
The Jackals open their first season of play in the ECHL with the regular season opener Friday, October 19th, against the Wheeling Nailers at First Arena (7:35 p.m.). The Main Street Block Party starts off the night at 5 p.m. and then it moves inside as history is made. All fans in attendance will pick up a Jackals/Bully Hill 2007-08 Magnetic Schedule and the first 1,000 fans through the doors will pick up a special Opening Night T-Shirt.
Great seats are still available, but are going fast. Tickets for Opening Night and all regular season home games are available by calling Tickmaster charge-by-phone at 722-3711, on-line at www.ticketmaster.com, or in person at the First Arena Box Office (Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.).
