RoadRunners Unveil 2007-08 Opening Day Roster

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL have released their 2007-08 roster in preparation for their regular season opener at 7:11 p.m. Friday against the Utah Grizzlies at US Airways Center.

To reach the 20-men active roster limit, the RoadRunners released defenseman Steve Birnstill, and placed defenseman Jeff Moor on the three-day injured reserve and rookie forward Steve Covington on the seven-day injured reserve. Center Cam Paddock remains on loan to San Antonio of the American Hockey League.

The RoadRunners active roster includes forwards Jeff Smith, Daniel Sisca, Peder Skinner, Sean O'Connor, Thatcher Bell, Jeff Kyrzakos, Scott Kelman, Justin Maiser, Mitch Carefoot, and Chris Stevens; defensemen Dave Pszenyczny, Reagan Rome, Ian Turner, Nick Toneys, Corey LeClair, and Brian Yandle; and goaltenders Cody Rudkowsky and Nathan Lawson.

Only four players, Kyrzakos, Pszenyczny, Yandle, and Rudkowsky return from the 2006-07 RoadRunners' roster.

Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Church has also named Reagan Rome as the RoadRunners' 2007-08 Team Captain, and Daniel Sisca, Ian Turner, Justin Maiser, and Cody Rudkowsky as rotating alternate captains.

The RoadRunners return to US Airways Center at 7:11 p.m. Friday when they host the Utah Grizzlies to commence their third season in the desert.
