Fresno Deputy Mayor Jeff Eben To Drop Puck At Falcons Opener

Fresno, CA...The Fresno Falcons have announced that City of Fresno Deputy Mayor Jeff Eben will drop a ceremonial first puck at Friday's Eye Q home opener when the Falcons battle the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7:30pm at the Save Mart Center. Mr. Eben, who enjoyed a twenty-seven year career as a coach, educator and administrator prior to accepting the position as Deputy Mayor last spring, is also a community advocate for disabled citizens.

The Falcons are celebrating Friday's Eye Q Opening Night as a Rally Around Citizens with Disabilities. The first 2000 fans will receive a Falcons Rally Towel and there will be a disabilities awareness program during the first intermission. The game will also feature more than thirty local agencies and organizations on display who assist citizens with developmental, physical, or disease related disabilities. Kevin Vu, a Fresno State freshman with Cerebral Palsy will be a guest speaker during the first intermission. Brittany Wilkinson, a Clovis High Student with Mitochondrial Disease will also be one of several special guests on the ice during the first intermission. A special thanks goes out to Jennifer Gatley, a Falcons fan and mother of an autistic child who served as an inspiration for Friday's Rally Around Citizens with Disabilities.

The Fresno Figure Skating Club will perform as part of the pregame ceremonies and local celebrity voice Silverio Montoya will sing the National Anthem.

The first 1000 kids 12 and younger at Friday's Eye Q Opening Night will receive a free Falcons' # 72 Luke Curtin T-shirt Jersey courtesy of Eye Q Vision Care. Luke Curtin will be signing free autographs after the game. Friday's Eye Q Opener is also Soccer Night in Fresno with a youth soccer parade on the ice featuring Fresno Fuego Coach Scott Alcorn and members of the 2007 PDL Western Conference Champion Fresno Fuego.
