Rox Win with Another Dominating Pitcher Performance

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud Rox defeated the Alexandria Blue Anchors 2-1 Wednesday night after another pitcher's dual.

Zach Pop (University of Kentucky) was the starting pitcher for the Rox and went 6.2 innings. He struck out five batters, scattered five hits and only allowed one run. Brian Glowicki (University of Minnesota) would take over for Pop and went 1.1 innings, striking out one batter.

Trevor Charpie (Saddleback Community College) would close out the game for his seventh save of the season. Charpie is now tied for fourth most saves in the league.

The Rox would score their first run in the bottom of the first inning when Brett Pope (Western Carolina University) scored on a fielder's choice off of the bat of Austin Athmann (University of Minnesota).

Athmann would score the winning run in the fourth inning on a Blue Anchor error after a Liam Bedford (Doane College) at bat.

The Rox are now 7-1 in the second half and 26-16 overall. The Rox currently lead the North Division's second half standings and are one game out of first place in the season overall standings.

The Rox will host the Duluth Huskies tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. but gates will open at 6:05 p.m. Tomorrow Deuces Wild! Dueling Pianos will be entertaining fans throughout the game presented by PreferredOne.
