Kenosha, Wis. - Making just his fourth start of the season, E.J. Trapino was nothing short of masterful, throwing seven shut out innings Wednesday afternoon to lead the Kenosha Kingfish over the Lakeshore Chinooks 4-0 in game one of a doubleheader.

Trapino was the star of the game for the Kingfish (30-14). The southpaw stifled the Chinooks all day, striking out seven batters and only allowing one hit. The lone hit came in the bottom of the second by Mark Kolozsvary. Trapino now improves to 2-0 on the year with a 2.32 ERA. J.D. Nielsen pitched the final one third on an inning to earn the save.

Kenosha got off to a quick start thanks to a three run, first inning sparked by the top of the Kingfish lineup. Zach Weigel started things off with a single and Nick Sergakis followed with a double to move Weigel to third. Weigel came home on an Eric Filia sacrifice fly to right field and Sergakis followed behind after Zach Ratcliff reached on an error, making it 2-0 Kingfish. Later in the inning, a Brody Westmoreland bases loaded walk made it 3-0 after one. 

Jeremy Vasquez continued his hot hitting, jacking out a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning and increased the Kingfish lead to 4-0. His home run is his second in as many days, with a grand slam home run last night against the Chinooks.

Not much offense for the Chinooks (21-21) today, being shut out for the second straight game. Ryan Dunne only lasted one inning for Lakeshore and took the loss after giving up three runs on three hits. John Schreiber came on in relief and pitched six innings, limiting Kenosha to one run on five hits. Kolozsvary and Zarley Zalewski had the two hits for the Chinooks.

The Kingfish will play game two of today's doubleheader tonight a 6:35 p.m. at Lakeshore.
