St. Cloud Rox News Release
St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud Rox split two games Thursday night versus the Green Bay Bullfrogs.
The first game of the night was a resumed game from May 29th. The game started in the bottom of the 13th inning where the Bullfrogs were the home team. Trevor Charpie (Saddleback Community College) was originally in leftfield for the Rox but came in to pitch in the bottom of the 13th inning where he sent the Bullfrogs down in order.
Brandon Benson (Georgia College) would lead off the top of the 14th inning with a single to start the Rox offense. One out later Charpie would come up to bat because he moved from the outfield to the mound, negating the designated hitter for the game.
One the first pitch Charpie hit a high fastball down the leftfield line for a double that would roll to the fence allowing Benson to score from first base.
Charpie would again send the Bullfrogs down in order in the bottom of the 14th inning, striking out two batters. And picking up the win.
The Rox would get another strong outing from Zach Pop (University of Kentucky) in game two but fell 1-0. Pop pitched 5.1 innings, striking out four batters and not allowing an earned run.
Brett DeGagne (University of North Dakota) would come into the game in the sixth inning. He would go 3.2 innings, striking out four batters, only allowing two hits and not allowing a run.
John Sansone (Florida State University) went 1-3 with one walk.
