
Austin Athmann to Compete in Northwoods League Home Run Challenge

St. Cloud, Minn. - Austin Athmann (University of Minnesota) will compete in the Marshfield Clinic Home Run Challenge on Tuesday, July 21st at Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
The Home Run Challenge will take place before the Northwoods League All-Star game. Nine participants from both the South and North have been chosen for the event, which will feature a nine-inning competition between the two divisions.
Athmann, a Cold Spring native, is hitting .293 on the season with four homeruns and five doubles. The catcher leads the Rox with 28 RBIs in 2015.
The format for the Marshfield Clinic Home Run Challenge is below:
1. There will be 9 innings with each player having one half inning.
2. Away team (North) player bats first in the top of the inning, and home team player next (South) in the bottom half
of the inning.
3. Each player will have one half inning at bat that will consist of 6 outs
4. The player with the most home runs at the end of the 9 innings, will be the Home Run Challenge Winner
5. The team (North or South) with the most home runs will be announced as the winner of the team competition.
The St. Cloud Rox return to play Thursday night at 6:05 p.m. as they resume a game in the bottom of the 13th inning that was postponed due to rain in Green Bay on May 29th versus the Green Bay Bullfrogs. The doors at the Rock Pile will open to fans at 5:30 p.m.
The second game Thursday night is scheduled to begin 30 minutes after the first game but not earlier than 7:05 p.m.. Tickets for July 16th game will be good for both games. It will be Men's Health Awareness Night presented by CentraCare Clinic-Adult & Pediatric Urology. One lucky guy will win a grill.
