New Jersey Jackals News Release

Little Falls, NJ - In a game that featured zero pitching, the Brockton Rox outslugged the Jackals on their way to a 16-10 victory.

Demetrius Banks was on the mound for the Jackals and he was opposed by Luis Carreras for the Rox. Neither pitcher lasted past the fourth inning as both pitchers only went 3 and 1/3 innings.

The Jackals did their best to give Banks a lead when they scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning. However, Banks would completely lose control in the third, giving up four runs.

The Jackals would take the lead in the fourth thanks to home runs by left fielder Jud Thigpen and first baseman Clyde Williams. The Rox would fire right back with a round tripper of their own in the top of the fifth on a three run jack by left fielder Jeremy Coronado. Coronado would finish the game 5-7 with four RBI.

In the seventh inning the Rox would score two more runs, taking the lead for good.

In a game that featured 26 runs on 39 hits, every player in the Rox lineup would come around to score at least once in the ball game. The game ended with the Rox ahead, 16-10.

Ben Thurmond suffered the loss for New Jersey in his second straight relief appearance. Donavon Hendrix earned the win.
