New Haven County Cutters News Release
WEST HAVEN, CT - RHP Karl Gelinas (4-2) tossed 7.0 shutout innings and catcher Gary Stevens went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer (3) and three RBI to lead the Quebec Capitales over the New Haven Count Cutters, 7-0, Friday night in the first of a three-game series at Historic Yale Field.
LHP Ryan Bonesio (2-4) started for the Cutters and allowed five runs on seven hits in 7.0 innings in the loss.
Cutters' second baseman Tom Koch went 2-for-4 and first baseman Jeremy Pickrel went 1-for-3 with the team's lone extra base hit - a fourth inning double.
Game two of the three-game series is schedule for Saturday night. Game time is 7:05 pm.
The Cutters will send LHP Roland Valles (0-3, 4.32 ERA) to the hill and be countered by Caps' RHP Michel Simard (5-1, 2.62 ERA).
