Rox Offense Stays Hot as They Complete Sweep of Loggers

ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud Rox (5-1) extend their lead for the Great Plains West as they defeat the LaCrosse Loggers 10-1, Saturday, June 3rd. They outscored LaCrosse 23-9 in their two-game sweep. The Rox totaled 16 hits in their victory over LaCrosse, with each hitter in the lineup reaching base in the game. They collected six walks in the evening as well.

Ben Vujovich (St. Thomas) started the hitting with a double in the 1st, finishing 3-5 in the evening. Matt Goetzmann (Omaha) joined with a single right after, going 2-6 in the afternoon as well.

Nathan Rose (Bowling Green) finished 2-3 with a pair of singles and 1 RBI after a knock in the 1st and 3rd innings. Lincoln Berry (North Iowa CC) took over at second base, going 2-2 as well. Weber Neels (Minnesota) joined the hit parade with a double in the 5th, finishing 1-4 with 2 RBI's.

The Rox put in four runs in the 7th frame, off the back of a lead-off double from Kyle Jackson (Minnesota State - Mankato). Jackson collected two runs and an RBI on the night.

Rox pitching was excellent as well. Aidan Kidd (NJIT) got the start, and struck out nine batters over 6.0 IP. No runs came in. Kolten Smith (Georgia) got the finish, striking out another four en route to the Rox victory.

Today's All Star Trophy and Awards All Star of the game is Aidan Kidd.

After a road trip to Mankato up next, the Rox return to home Thursday, June 8th, for a 7:05 pm first pitch against the Waterloo Bucks. There will be a poster schedule giveaway for the contest, presented by our partners, McDonald's meats and Rengel Printing Co.!
