Grant Lavigne hit his third home run in as many games and led Grand Junction to an 18-6 win over the Orem Owlz. The Rockies had 22 hits on the night with both Lavigne and Coco Montes going 4-5 and Niko Decolati going 3-3. The win brings Grand Junction to 8-9 on the season. The teams face off again tomorrow night in Orem for game three of the four-game set.

Reagan Biechler picked up his first win of the season pitching for 2 1/3 innings allowing one hit and striking out a pair of Owlz.

Grand Junction jumped ahead of the Owlz in the first with Lavigne singling to right before stealing second. A wild pitch sent him to third before scoring on a sac fly from John Cresto to make it 1-0. The Rox kept the lead the rest of the game scoring five runs in the third, and four runs in the fourth to make it 10-0 heading to the bottom of the frame.

In the home half, the Owlz put four runs on the board. After Fracisco Del Valle walked, Tim Millard and Griffin Barnes hit singles to load the bases. Erven Roper stepped into the box and hit a grand slam beyond the fence in right center field to make it 10-4.

The Rox tacked on another four runs in the fifth to regain a ten-run lead and kept adding runs including three in the top of the ninth en route to an 18-6 win.
