Brockton Rox News Release
Craig Lewis and Brian Jones each had three RBI for visiting Brockton, as the Rox handed New Haven County its first loss of the season, 8-4. The Rox scored in the first on Jones' ground out to short and then added two more in the second on a sacrifice fly by Abner Arroyo and single by Saul Bustos for an early 3-0 lead.
New Haven, which had won seven straight to open the season, made the score 3-2 on P.J. Johnston's two-run single in the fourth. Jones' two-run homer in the fifth and Lewis' three-run home run in the sixth provided the rest of the offense for the Rox. Kevin Lynn went six innings for the win, while Skip Wiley took the loss. Jose Mateo went 4-for-4 for New Haven County, while Francisco Matos had three hits for Brockton.
