Rowney Recalled to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, have announced a transaction, which takes effect immediately. Forward Carter Rowney has been recalled by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Rowney, 23, is currently in the midst of a successful rookie season in the Penguins organization, having accumulated six goals, seven assists, and 13 points in 15 games with the Nailers. After registering at least one point in four of his first six games, Carter put together the best game of his brief career, netting a hat trick against the Fort Wayne Komets on November 8th, which included two goals in a span of 15 seconds. The Sexsmith, AB has four multiple point games in a Wheeling uniform, including Saturday night's contest in Fort Wayne, in which he tallied the game tying goal with 32 seconds remaining.

Carter Rowney and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will visit the Adirondack Phantoms on Wednesday night.
