
Stockton's Foster Named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Brian Foster of the Stockton Thunder is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Nov. 18-24.
The 26-year-old went 3-0-0 with a 1.33 goals-against average and a save percentage of .954 last week as the Thunder improved to 11-4-1 and moved to within one point of first place in the Pacific Division.
A native of Pembroke, N.H., Foster made 32 saves in a 5-1 win against San Francisco on Wednesday, turned aside 28 shots in a 3-2 victory over Utah on Friday and stopped 25 shots in a 3-1 win against Idaho on Saturday.
A fifth-round selection (161st overall) by the Florida Panthers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Foster is 9-0-1 this season, and is tied for the league lead in wins, leads the league with a .943 save percentage and is second with a 1.68 goals-against average.
Foster has appeared in 90 career ECHL games with Stockton and Cincinnati with an overall record of 55-24-8 with six shutouts, a 2.51 goals-against average and a save percentage of .912. Last season, he became just the 11th goaltender in ECHL history to score a goal on Feb. 15 against Trenton. Foster has also appeared in 19 career AHL games with San Antonio, and made his NHL debut with Florida on Feb. 4, 2012, stopping the only shot he faced in 4:52 of playing time.
