Tonight's Matchup: The San Francisco Bulls (4-10-1-1) begin a two-game series with the Bakersfield Condors (3-11-0-1), tonight, at Rabobank Arena. This is the second of 11 meetings between these clubs this season. The Bulls lead the season series 1-0-0-0.

These teams last faced off on November 8, when San Francisco came away with a 2-1 victory at the Cow Palace. Dean Ouellet and Kyle Bigos scored for the Bulls. Riley Brace and Dylan King registered assists. Tyler Beskorowany had a busy night, stopping 34 shots in the win.

Last Saturday, the Bulls lost to the Utah Grizzlies, 3-0. Utah scored a goal in each period, and Ben Meisner pitched the shutout. San Francisco led in shots, 20-16.

The Bulls scoring depth has taken a hit in recent weeks with injuries to Dale Mitchell, Ryan McDonough, and Mark Lee. This week San Francisco made a couple of moves to help re-solidify their offense. They acquired forward Tyler Gron from the Idaho Steelheads for defenseman Damon Kipp. In addition, they signed former New Jersey Devils first-round pick forward Adrian Foster, and defenseman Kalvin Sagert. Finally, they waived Riley Emmerson.

Gron, 24, is in his second year of professional hockey. He has four points (3g, 1a) in 13 games with Idaho this season. Last year, also with the Steelheads, he compiled 32 points (21g, 11a), in 34 games.

Foster, a 31 year-old veteran, was drafted 28th overall by the Devils in 2001. Another former Steelhead, he finished last season with 27 points (11g, 16a) in 26 games. He was a clutch performer, leading the team in playoff points with 14 (5g, 9a) in 16 games. In addition, he has 200 career AHL games under his belt, where he has totaled 88 points.

Sagert, 26, is in his first season of professional hockey. This year with the Wichita Thunder of the CHL, he has one assist in 11 games.

The new additions will look to bring a spark to the Bulls lineup tonight against the Condors. Bakersfield is headlined by forward Michael Neal. He leads the team, or is tied for the lead, in goals (4), assists (5), points (9), and plus/minus rating (+1).

San Francisco is in eighth place in the Western Conference with 10 points, one point back of the Las Vegas Wranglers in seventh. The Condors are in ninth place in the Western Conference with seven points, three behind the Bulls.

Tomorrow, San Francisco wraps up this two-game series with Bakersfield back on home ice at the Cow Palace. The game is the first Bobblehead Wednesday of the season. The game starts at 7:30 pm.
