Round Rock Express to Host Blood Drive on Thursday, July 13

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Express is proud to partner with We Are Blood to host a blood donation drive inside the United Heritage Center at Dell Diamond from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13. Appointments are required in order to give blood and are available at this link. The first 50 people to donate blood will receive an Express-branded baseball.
"The Round Rock Express and their fans are strengthening our community blood supply during a time of year when donations often dip to critical levels," We Are Blood Vice President of Community Engagement Nick Canedo said. "Every donation made at our upcoming blood drive at Dell Diamond will protect local patients in need during these important summer months."
We Are Blood is the exclusive supplier of blood donations for over 50 hospitals and clinics across 10 counties in Central Texas, including all St. David's HealthCare locations. Blood donations are needed every summer as donations dip due to schools being out of session and individuals becoming busy with vacation and family commitments.
With extraordinary growth in blood transfusion need across Central Texas, blood drives are an important way for community members to donate. In years past, the Round Rock Express have partnered with Brown Distributing and We Are Blood to host a sold-out blood donation drive at Dell Diamond in May of 2020 and August of 2021.
The entire process takes about 45 minutes to one hour and the actual blood giving process takes just 15 to 35 minutes.
"Partnering with We Are Blood and calling on our community to donate is always one of my favorite times of the year because Central Texas always steps up," President Chris Almendarez said. "We're excited to welcome donors to Dell Diamond as we aim to save lives and bring our community together."
